Goodreads Synopsis:

Otherworldly Creatures. Shocking Truths. Sizzling Passions.
Shiloh Trudell thought she was getting used to the strange events in Fallen Oaks, until the full moon brings another surge of supernatural threats to her coastal town. Ferocious wolves, deadly necromancers, and fallen angels have descended upon the neighborhood, so Shiloh needs to gain control of her magical abilities—and her impetuous heart—fast!
As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter sexy, brooding Trent Donovan—local bad boy, and the type of guy your mother warned you about.
While Trent tries to help Shiloh prepare for a supernatural battle, their fiery spark intensifies into a slow burn. Romance with an unlimited potential allows them to experience both the thrill of love and the chill of fear for the object of their affection.
Then Shiloh discovers a dark family secret that threatens to shatter her world. The only thing that keeps her going is her thirst for revenge and the protective, rebellious boy she’s falling head over heels for.
When her classmates are attacked by a mysterious creature and her father is murdered, Shiloh vows vengeance. Except that’s not all Shiloh has to worry about. She’s also struggling not to become the very thing she fights: evil.
But with demon blood inside her—anything can happen…

My Thoughts:

The Cover: The cover for Moonlight Mayhem is beautiful. Our lovely cover model, I am thinking that is Shiloh, our snarky, sharp protagonist, before the moon, with scratches across her shoulder. Indicating that she has been scratched by someone or something. Can she even be affected by a werewolf or lycan bite? Hmm, I don't know, but I still love the shadowing, or rather foreshadowing? Very dark and mysterious.

The Plot: As always, Sherry keeps us on our toes with a quick moving plot line, lots of action and mystery, and of course, another cliffhanger ending. I really enjoyed the story line to Moonlight Mayhem, but adding the lycan was an instant winner in my book. As Shiloh continues to solve the mystery of her ancestry and develop her powers, bombs drop a mile a minute. I finished this book in less than 48 hours, because I could not get enough of our sharp tongued protagonist or solve the mystery fast enough. I really liked that not everything is wrapped up in a neat package in each of the books in this series and not all of the questions are answered.

The Characters: Shiloh rocks. I can't say enough how much I like our heroine. She is flawed, yet brave, beautiful, yet humble, all while having fantastic fashion sense! Where can I get me some of her signature Doc Martens? Now if only her and Trent could figure things out! Although, I guess I would have some trouble trusting him too, if I was Shiloh. I can also say I would have a seriously hard time saying no against that sexy bad boy. Again, Ariana is one kick ass best friend; I have loved her since book one. I just hope that Daniel is one of the good guys, because you never know who you can trust for sure. But I think him and Ariana will be awesome and she really needs some good. Moonlight Mayhem introduces several other interesting characters, as will. Carter is kinda terrifying in his own way. Any time he turns up, I shake in my boots, or rather my slipper socks..... The coach and his wife creep me out as well, just can't get a read on them, but they are somehow mixed up with the football team being attacked, falling into mysterious three day comas and then waking up healed and super, well, everything!

Is It Worth Reading? Yes, definitely, I will be reading the whole series again for sure, sometime in the future!! Moonlight Mayhem adds to the mystery, romance and sheer terror of the Spellbound series! It fulfills that need to read something that keeps you wondering from page one, through the entire series. Fantastic characters, steamy romance and dangerous baddies makes the Spellbound series one of my favorites. I highly recommend Moonlight Mayhem to readers of YA Fantasy and Paranormal and look forward to Reckless Revenge. Moonlight Mayhem gets 5 out of 5 crossbows.
