 My Thoughts: The Cover:
This book has a very unique cover. I am not really sure how to describe it, but the author likes to evoke feelings in the reader and I definitely feel that he has succeeded. It’s like an unsettled feeling in the pit of your stomach. While I am not really sure why this particular cover was chosen for this book, it is still very interesting. The Storyline:
I loved the story!!! It was such a distinct story, so different from anything I have ever read before. Very well written, The Red Book, kept my mind busy, wondering what was going to happen next. The story flowed well with the perfect amount of twists, holy wow moments and explosions. I really enjoyed every moment of it and can’t wait for the next book in this Little Yellow Rubber Duck (actually unnamed) trilogy! The Characters:
All of the characters kicked butt in this story! They all had interesting personalities and great interactions. I loved how Martin and Maria (Honululu Girl) were love at first sight. They really did have that sacrine sweet love affair that can make your friends tease you relentlessly. Chuck is also a pretty cool character, who seems to have his own mystery about him. I like the friendship that Martin and Chuck develop. I think Coco and Blu are my favorite characters. They have their own sorted history and seem such strong characters. I also really enjoyed Mors very graphic felt-tipped inked shirts. Was It Worth Reading?:
Absolutely, The Red Book is an entertaining read, with amazing character and intense drama and action. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am anticipating the following two books. I highly recommend The Red Book to readers of sci-fi and give it 5 out of 5 crossbows.
