Goodreads Synopsis

Tessa McCaide has a unique talent for getting into trouble. Then again, it isn’t easy for a girl with visions to ignore what she sees. Luckily Tessa and her family are leaving California and moving halfway across the country, giving her the perfect opportunity to leave her reputation as “Freaky Tessa” behind.

But Tessa doesn’t realize that kissing the wrong guy in her new Texas town could land her in far more trouble than she ever imagined. Like being forced to attend St. Ailbe’s Academy, a secret boarding school for werewolves.

Even if the wrong guy did accidentally turn her into one of “them” and doom her to attending the weirdest high school ever, Tessa can’t help her growing attraction to the mysterious Dastien Laurent.

When vampires attack St. Alibe’s and her visions pinpoint an enemy in their midst, Tessa realizes that boy drama and her newfound canine tendencies might just be the least of her problems.

My Thoughts:

The Cover: The cover for Becoming Alpha was really enticing. Since weres are my favourite sups, this was a no brainer. Now, the wolf on the cover is beautiful and the girl looking over her shoulder makes you think naturally she is running from the wolf. But I wondered is the wolf looking out for her. Mushy, I know, but hey, a girl can dream.
The Plot:  The story to this one was pretty cool. Not at all what I expected. But soooo in a good way. It is a pretty fast paced story with lots of action. Not just swoony romance, so I really liked that. Lots of mystery too, which only added to everything else that kept me engaged in Tessa's story. Aileen introduces a world in Becoming Alpha that I can not wait to revisit.

Characters:  I loved Tessa. True, I kinda felt she was a bit overemotional, but she was thrust into a whole other world with no return ticket. Dastien seems made for trouble; how can you trust any guy who is so hot! I loved the supporting characters more for this one. Melinda is one tough chick and I love how she is dependable for Tessa. Chris and Adrian just seem to balance everything out and add some comic relief. I am kinda hoping Melinda and Chris find each other.

Is it Worth Reading?:  Oh, ummmm, hell yes! Its worth a re-read! I loved every moment of this book! I am always worried when I open a new tale of weres, because I guess I have really high expectations. I can honestly say this one blew those expectations right out of the bat cave. Holy wolves, batman. Loved it, to the point that I devoured every word. Looking forward to book 2 of Alpha Girl, Avoiding Alpha.

This one totally gets 5/5 crossbows!
