Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read.
This is my 2nd Follow Friday post. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to visiting your pages and reading your posts.

Q. How important is good writing to you? In an ideal world, a book would be beautifully written AND have great character development, plot, etc. But in the real world, which do you prefer: (1) Great characters and plot with lousy writing or (2) Middling character development and plot but gorgeous writing?

A. In my opinion, I can be understanding if the writing is off, but the plot is amazing and the characters are great. In my experience, (cause we've all had one of these books) a book can have a totally explosive storyline and wonderful characters that you just fall in love with and have the grammer, spelling, and use of phrases be absolute crap. As long as you can read and follow the story, it should be ok. Distracting for sure, but readable. Its when you get one of those stories where you can't understand what is going on, or the story is jumpy, one moment the protagonist is say, saddling her horse and in the next statement she is cantering through a valley, or even worse, just leading her horse out of a stall. Those kind of things really distract me to the point where, if it happens frequently through the book, I can't finish it.
What do you find more important when reading? Please share your thoughts and feelings.
